We are sorry things have been a little quiet from the office in the last few weeks, there are two reasons for this. Race organisers Richard and Barrileigh are celebrating the birth of their first child, Owen James, on July 3rd. After a few complications on the day baby is prefect, and mother is slowly getting better. Shortly after Owen was born Richard then got pneumonia, which has knocked him flat for a few weeks. This has meant the office has been un-manned for a week or so, and we apologise for any problems this may have caused. We are now back up to speed, and well on the way to putting on an amazing first event! |

We have finished what we hope will be the final major review of the 2008 Moose course. Due to the lack of open, grass spaces in Tobermory on which to pitch tents, the Start Race Village has now been relocated to Cyprus Lake. This new location offers the event much better facilities in which to host and cater for the event, as well as providing a stunning backdrop for the start. However, registration and the pre-race briefing will still be taking place in Tobermory, at the new Parks Canada Visitors Centre. |

We have made a few changes to the mandatory equipment list for the event, all of which will benefit you as it will reduce the weight of your pack. One of the biggest changes has been the reduction in the food you must carry for the event. During a review we realised that asking you to carry a full 2,000 calories for the final 21km stage is almost pointless, as we are planning a larger breakfast and there is the dinner in the evening. So, we have reduced the food requirement to 5 days at 2,000 calories. |
